Matua To Be Replaced
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 14. A ship to replace the Pacific Islands vessel Matua is being designed in Wellington. The Matua, built in Britain in 1936, will probably make a last voyage round the islands early next year. She will then be sold for scrap. The Auckland manager of the Union Steam Ship Company (Mr R. A. Johnson) said tenders for the new ship might be called late this year.
