Hard Of Hearing League’s Concert

The Christchurch branch of the League of the Hard of Hearing was host to the Rangiora branch at a concert yesterday.

Pianoforte items were given by Mrs J. Gibson and Mrs J. Ryan, a violin solo by Mrs L. McDonald, and a bracket of songs were sung by Mrs A. Rennie. The organiser was Mrs Stewart.

Federation Meets.—Mrs G. MacLachlan presided at the recent executive meeting of the Canterbury Federation of Country Women’s Institutes. Reports were received from the Save the Children Fund, Sunnyside Hospital, Langford House and the Templeton Chapel.

Strike Ended.—-The Christchurch Chief Postmaster (Mr M. E. Wilson) said on Monday he had been advised that the strike of Western Union Telegraph Company employees in the United States had ended. “Messages are no longer subject to abnormal delay,” he said.
