C.T.T.A. Shield To Nth. Canterbury

North Canterbury won the C.T.T.A. Shield for inter-sub-association table.tennis competition by a clear margin at the Canterbury sub-association’s tournament at Christchurch yesterday. Greater depth of playing strength in most sections, and particularly in the junior sections, enabled North Canterbury to win the shield for the third I consecutive year. Mid-Canterbury and Ellesmere closely contested second place, which remained In doubt until the final match. Points were awarded for each match won. Points were: North Canterbury 42, Ellesmere 22, Mid-Can-terbury 21, Malvern 14, Springs 12.
