A 12-acre farmlet "The Grove,” on Woodend road, near Rangiora, was sold privately after being passed in at £6OOO at a public auction in Rangiora, Described as being land suitable for market gardening and with a concrete fivebedroom dwelling, garage, and various outbuildings, the property was offered on behalf of the estate of the late Mr A. Judson.

Before a large crowd, the auctioneer, Mr L. P. Devlin, opened bidding at £5OOO. The price rose in 10 bids each of £lOO to £6OOO, at which it was passed in.
