Preservation Of Old Hotel
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 9. If the Auckland City Council does not place the City Club Hotel on the schedule of historic buildings for preservation at a special meeting tomorrow, demolition of the hotel will begin next week, Mr J. B. Horrocks, a director of the South British Insurance Company, Ltd., said today. The company wants to build a new office block on the hotel site.
The council was asked by the Historic Places Trust to schedule the hotel for preservation.
