APPEAL AGAINST ENDORSEMENT

An appeal by Clarence Morgan Davies, a painter, against three years’ endorsement of L s driver’s licence for a conviction for speeding on the Main South road, between Burnham and the Selwyn bridge, was dismissed by Mr Justice Wilson in the Supreme Court yesterday. Mr L. G. Holder, for Davies, conceded that he had previous convictions for speeding, but a clean sheet in this respect since 1962. While the endorsement of the present conviction on his licence would cause him no particular embarrassment, Davies appealed against it as excessive. His Honour said he regarded the term of the endorsement as appropriate, as a warning to Davies that his record made him liable to disqualification from driving.
