EUPHORBIA PULCHERRIMA, once known as Poinsettia after the discoverer, Poincette, is a shrub that produces most spectacularly coloured bracts towards the end of autumn which may persist until the end of winter. However, it is frost tender and, therefore, only suitable as a pot plant in Canterbury. It does best if placed in a bright position, such as by a window, and in an even temperature of about 65 degrees F. Excessive watering and exposure to drafts should be avoided at all costs.
