GILLIN IN FORM
Dash Over sf. “The Press” Special Service HASTINGS. Once again GilMn took the major honours during yesterday morning’s trackwork at Hastings when he showed his readiness for the Palmerston North Handicap at Awapuni tomorrow. He worked with great dash over five furlongs and is obviously better than for a long time. False Problem, Abdication, Damar and Cameta were others engaged at the Manawatu fixture to please in their final gallops. The course proper trestles were 25 feet out beyond the proper distance. On the plough Glillin (A. T. Jones) and Harlech (M. Donoghue) went out to run five furlongs and over the last two furlongs Harlech was no use to his partner, which strode clear for an easy win in Imin 3sec, the last three in 38sec. Cameta <T. Whittington) was too good for Malntown <B. Cullen) over three furlongs in 37 3-ssec. Cameta resumes racing in the Electric Hack Handicap because the maiden mile is considered too long for her. Abdication (I. D. Lawson) and Damar (J. T. Anderson) both pleased running five furlongs in Imin 6 l-ssec, the last three In 39 4-ssec. Damar is In two races tomorrow and a decision has not yet been made as to where he will start. False Problem (B. Cullen) pleased In a half mile workout with Andantino (I. D. Lawson) which took them 51 3-ssec, the last three in 39 2-ssec.
