Men Return To Work

(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 9. Work resumed in the Otahuhu freezing work? of R. and W. Hellaby, Ltd., this morning after a 48-hour stoppage which began on Tuesday morning when workers refused o carry on after three men had been taken to hospital after an ammonia leak. The 1000 employees met yesterday morning to seek improvements in the alarm system and sought better exits from departments. They then went home until studies had been made by the Department of Labour and the company’s safety consultants.

After a further meeting this morning, the workers accepted an undertaking that measures would be taken to meet their demands.
