NEW CAMP OPENING
Salvationist Centre
“Glentui,” a camp-confer-ence centre built by the Salvation Army near Oxford, will be opened tomorrow by the Salvation Army New Zealand territorial commander, Commissioner C. S. Davidson. Situated 45 miles from Christchurch, the modern camp and conference centre is built on 10 acres of land given by Mr H. Horne, whose farm adjoins the camp property.
Mr H. E. L. Pickering, member of Parliament for Rangiora, will represent the Government at the opening. Also present will be the as-i sistant general secretary of the National Council of Churches, the Rev. R. O’Grady, the Salvation Army divisional commander for Canterbury-Westland, Brigadier S. A. Smith, the divisional youth officer, Captain B. McStay, and the divisional public relations officer, Brigadier L. Millar. Music at the opening will be rendered by the Christchurch Citadel Band.
