Nkrumah 'Wanted' By Interpol

(N.Z.P.A. Reuter —Copyright) ACCRA, June 9. Interpol has circulated “wanted” notices with photographs of former President Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana throughout the world, the “Police Gazette” reported in Accra last night.

The notices were sent out after the Ghana Government asked Interpol for help in arresting Dr. Nkrumah, who is now living in Guinea. Dr. Nkrumah is wanted in Ghana on charges of conspiracy to extort, of extortion and stealing. The Interpol notice, according to the “Police Gazette,” say? “Dr. Nkrumah could be

dangerous for he might be armed.” He is also said to have about 70 security officers staying with him in Guinea. The gazette said the Interpol notice stated that Dr. Nkrumah was “fond of a bul-let-proof suit, European attire, Chinese official uniform, Ghanaian attire and white round-neck singlet with white trousers as ‘meditation dress.’ ”

Dr. Nkrumah has, in a broadcast over Guinea Radio, described the Ghanaian international arrest warrant as “a demonstration of abject stupidity and ignorance.” He was deposed by a military coup in Ghana last February.

Hair Nets.—Beatle hairstyles for men and youths have been banned in New South Wales factories by the state government. The Minister for Labour and Industry, Mr E. A. Willis, says the styles may be worn only if covered by a hair net or other suitable coving.—Sydney, June 9.
