£20,300 Missing

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA, June 9. The Reserve Bank of Australia is puzzled over the mystery of the missing £lOO notes—2o3 of them. The notes, along with 439 £5O notes, are believed to be expensive relics tucked away among the souvenirs of people in all parts of the country. The bank said the notes

are among £43,010 worth of old high-denomination bank notes which are unaccounted for in the banking system.

No notes worth more than £lO have been issued since the war, and those remaining in circulation have been withdrawn as soon as they reached a bank.

The last £lOO note to be returned to the bank turned up last July.
