Ball In Tower Of London

(Special Crspdt. N.Z.P.A.) LONDON, June 7. The Tower of London, for the first time in its history, is to be the scene of a ball at the end of this month. The host will be the tower's governor, and it will be in aid of the Dr. Barnardo Homes' centenary appeal. The Queen's permission for the ball had to be obtained because the tower is a Royal fortress. Everybody not out by 3 a.m. will be locked in the guardroom, says the governor. Sir Thomas Butler. Guests will be given mead to drink and an ox will be roasted on a spit in the bear pit at the tower.
