30-MINUTE LIMIT

(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) SYDNEY.

The New South Wales Totalisator Agency Board has decided to introduce a 30-min-ute betting deadline, beginning next Saturday. N.S.W. T.A.B. punters previously had to lodge their bets 40 minutes before the start of a race. The later closing time will operate for win and place betting on horse races, trots and dogs. The daily double will continue to close one hour before the first leg. The 30-minute deadline will enable punters to bet on successive races.

With the 40-minute closing time, betting for the second race on a programme closed before the running of the first.
