Parliament’s Diary
The Time-Payment and Credit-Trading Purchasers’ Protection Bill introduced by Mr R. L. Bailey (Opp., Heretaunga) was given a first reading in Parliament yesterday. In the Address-in-Reply debate, the speakers were:
Opposition: Sir Walter Nash (Hutt), Mr A. H. Nordmeyer (Island Bay), Mrs E. E. McMillan (Dunedin North), Sir Eruera Tirikatene (Southern Maori) and Mr G. A. Spooner (Wanganui).
Government: Mr W. H. Brown (Palmerston North), the Minister of Customs (Mr Shelton), Mr R. E. Jack (Waimarine), Mrs E. Tombleson (Gisborne), and Mr D. S. Thomson (Stratford).
