Freighter Sold To New Guinea
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 8. The freighter Kopara, which has provided a service between Auckland, Gisborne. Napier and Wellington for many years, has been sold to a New Guinea shipping company.
Richardson and Company. Ltd., have sold her to Karlander . Papua Proprietary, Ltd., who will rename her the Sarang, and use her to carry general cargo between New Guinea and Eastern Australia.
She will leave for Australia tomorrow.
The ship was built in 1938 by Henry Robb, Ltd.
