The veteran American golfer, Sam Snead, who has competed In the last 25 United States open championships, has failed to qualify for next week's title in San Francisco.
The 54-year-old Snead shot a seven-over-par 151 for 36 holes In the sectional qualifying yesterday.
He failed to qualify by one stroke and became an alternate.
