Southland Team

[From Our Rugby Reporter! INVERCARGILL.

A very experienced side, strong in the three-quarters, but lacking line-out specialists, has been chosen by Southland to play the British Lions on Saturday. The biggest weakness of the Southland side is in the locks where E. J. Hazlett, prop for the South Island, has been paired with G. Dermody, who was a loose forward last season.

The 33-year-old W. R. Archer, has been selected as first five-eighths. The team is:—

B. J. Cullen; G. O. Townsend, J. T. Beazley, P. E. Savage; R. R. Welsh, Archer; C. D. Hay; A. J. Soper; H. Millar, Dermody, Hazlett, A. Frew; G. G. Spencer, S. R. Hardiman, J. C. Lindsay.
