Freighter For Vietnam

The freighter Jeparit, which will take supplies to Australian troops in Vietnam, will be delayed in Newcastle at least another day because seamen will not complete its crew.
The freighter is now eight men short of its complement of 38. Seamen in Newcastle and Sydney today Ignored a pick-up call for volunteers to man the 7500-ton freighter. Another call for men will be made in Sydney, Newcastle and other Australian ports tomorrow morning. Maritime authorities in Newcastle said that even if a full crew could be arranged the Jeparit might not sail for Sydney until Friday.
