Now Presumed Dead
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) CAPE TOWN, June 8. A woman whose husband flew out to sea until his fuel ran out has been given permission to presume him dead. Evidence supplied to the South African Supreme Cour* yesterday described how Mr Max Kolb called up the control tower of Durban Airport on December 10, 1964, saying
he was hundreds of miles, out to sea and heading further out with only about 40 minutes fuel left.
Kolb refused to give his position and said: “1 can do as I like with my aeroplane, it is paid for. 1 can do what I like with my life.” After saying he was enjoying his last minutes, he radioed: “I am going now. Byebye and thanks for trying to save my life.”
