BLOWPIPER OF BRUNEI TOWN

(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) KUALA BELAIT (Brunei). An Iban blowpiper has killed 79 unlicensed dogs in Kuala Belait since the beginning of April. The Iban, employed for this purpose by the town council, uses poisoned darts to eliminate the unwanted animals. Recently some of his used darts have been turning up in the compounds of private homes. The town clerk has warned parents that these could be dangerous to children. He asked parents to report the discovery of any darts and either to return them to his office or to bury them.
