The English language will continue to play an important part even after Malay becomes the sole official language of the country, says the Malaysian Minister of Education (Inche Mohammed Khir Johari).

‘‘English has been, and will continue to be, the official language of the Commonwealth.” he said.

“Our students will still need to go overseas to Commonwealth as well as to non-Commonwealth universities where the medium of instruction is English.”
