Youths Given Borstal Terms On 46 Charges

AUCKLAND, June 7.
Four youths who appeared for sentence today on a total of 46 charges were each sentenced to borstal training on all charges by Mr R. M. Grant, S.M.
Allan Frederick Price, aged 19, a labourer, had previously admitted two charges of car conversion, six burglary charges, one assault charge, and one theft Charge Gordon Lyle Collins, aged 18, unemployed, had admitted two car conversion charges, six burglary charges, one theft charge, one unlawful sexual intercourse charge, one charge of assault, and one
charge of breach of probation.
Kevin Malcolm Smith, aged 19. an apprentice butcher, had admitted charges of endangering public transport, disorderly behaviour. wilful damage, assault, theft, two charges of car conversion and seven charges of burglary. Lawrence James Karena, aged 18, a boner, had admitted charges of assault, theft, two car conversion charges and six charges of burglary. The youth were arrested in a stolen car at Kaitaia on May 7.
Property was stolen to the value of £2706 17a Bd, most of which was recovered, and £79 damage was caused, the Court was told.
