(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright • LONDON. One of the world's leading soccer referees. Mr L. Horn, of Holland, has apologised for remarks he made after being omitted from the list of referees for next month’s World Cup finals.
In a letter to the International Football Federation, Mr Horn said: “I would like to express my regret at the reproaches made in my open letter and to withdraw them with apologies." When the World Cup referees’ panel was announced in February, Mr Horn blamed his omission on Sir Stanley Rous, the British president of F.1.F.A., whom he accused of being a dictator.
Regraded.—A High School Old Boys' player, B. Threthowan, was last evening granted a regrading from senior to junior by the Canterbury Rugby Union
