Fires And Two Dead
(N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) PANAMA CITY, June 7. Student disorders spread to Panama City yesterday from the city of Colon where clashes between students and National Guard troops left two dead and public buildings in flames, the Associated Press reported.
A Presidential press office broadcast said the demonstrations earlier in the day in Colon, involving some 500 students, were led by “Communist elements” after directives of a recent Communist tricontinental conference in Havana.
Student agitation in Colon has been building up since last week over the unsolved violent death of Juan Navas Pajaro, a student leader whose body was found on a roadside near Colon last Wednesday.
