‘Braille Week’ Plans

“Partners in Blindness” will be the theme of “Braille Week” this year. The national door-to-door collection will be held on Saturday, July 30, and the district organiser for the Foundation for the Blind in Christchurch (Mr H. Burrows) says preparations are well in hand. Last year a record £45,000 was collected in the South Island district from the Waitaki river north. About 5000 volunteer collectors will take part. The week will also draw public attention to requirements for eye safety in industry.
