KAITAWA SEARCH
Fears Hull Has Moved (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, June 6. Three Navy ships will sail from Devonport tomorrow morning to resume what may be a difficult search for the wreck of the Kaitawa. It is feared that the wreck may have been moved a considerable distance along the seabed by the gales that have lashed the search zone since Saturday. The Navy ships are the minesweepers Inverell and Kiama, and the research ship Tui. The Inverell carries divers, and the Tui has been equipped with an underwater television camera which could save the divers many fruitless descents.
On Friday the Navy pinpointed a wreck which was believed to be that of the collier. But since then she could have been dragged far from the scene by strong currents. Strong winds and rough seas reported at Cape Reinga today are expected to continue tomorrow.
The ships are due in the area on Wednesday.
