GOLDEN KIWI GRANT
Diabetic Assn. Disappointed (N.Z. Press Association/ WELLINGTON, June 6. Disappointment that there had been no firm reply to its request for a Golden Kiwi profits grant to help research is expressed in the annual report of the Diabetic Association of New Zealand to be presented to the annual meeting in Wellington on June 11. With a 1967 target of £lO,OOO the association’s national research fund stands at £3OOO, with another £l3OO to be credited. This had been raised by members, the report said. The association, on the advice of its specialist medical panel, planned to establish an initial three-year research fellowship for a resident graduate.
The report said that Rangiora had been chosen as the site of a pilot detection drive under controlled conditions.
