WOOL SALE IN LONDON
Big Offering Bv N.Z.
Practically the entire offering of wool at the June series of sales in London will be on New Zealand account. Of the total of 12,000 bales catalogued, all but 500 come from New Zealand, the London office of the Bank of New Zealand advised yesterday. Later in the week small offerings from the Falkland Islands and Punta Arenas will be submitted. The New Zealand offering Includes a useful variety of wools which will be of special interest to the woollen section of the trade, as about three-quarters of the offering consists of scoured wools and slipes.
The greasy wools are from both islands and include a good proportion of medium to fine crossbred lambs. Scoured cross-bred shearlings will be in bigger supply than in April, mostly in medium to fine crossbred varieties. South Island Merinos and halfbreds will be in short supply.
Total offering of greasy wool will be 2250 bales, scoured 3500 and slipe 5000, the last-named consisting mainly of January and February pullings.
