SALVAGED TREASURE

Auction To Be Held In N.Y. (N.Z.P. A.-Reuter —Copyright? LONDON, June 5. Treasure from a Spanish fleet lost off the Florida coast in 1715 will be auctioned in New York. The fleet of 11 ships was wrecked on a voyage from the Mexican port of Vera Cruz to Spain. Part of the cargo was intended as a wedding gift for the new Queen of Spain. Much of the treasure has still to be recovered, but extremely rare gold coins, gold and silver crucifixes, Chinese porcelain, jewels and jewellery plate, pearls and silver have been recovered.
