HIGHLAND RAIDER

Good Form In U.S. “The Press” Special Service AUCKLAND. Highland Raider has won his last four races on end in the United States, according to advice received in Auckland by his owners, Mr N. J. Taylor and Dr. J. J. Sullivan. He is being raced on lease by E. Cobb, one of America’s leading trainers. A five-year-old gelding by Morano from Tradition, Highland Raider showed a lot of speed in his races in New Zealand, but erratic behaviour at the start was against him. He is suited by the mobile barrier in the United States. Mars and Southern Cross, which were sold by Mr Taylor and Dr. Sullivan to Mr O. Newman, of New York, have also shown good form since going to America. Mars’s record is 10 starts for six wins and Southern Cross has had a first, a second and a third in as many races. Mars has earned 19,000 dollars in stakes. His best time for a mile is 2min 2 1-5 sec. Addington Trials
