Hopes For Recovery
(From Our Own Reporter! WELLINGTON.
The Waluku owner-trainer, M. C. Conway, has high hopes that Smoke Ring will race again. Smoke Bing suffered a hairline fracture to a sesamoid bone in his race at the Royal meeting at Ellerslie last week. "He could not put hi* foot on the ground for three days, but the X-rays show the trouble is not as bad as was first thought,” Conway said at Trentham yesterday. •TH be very surprised If he doee not come back next year as good as ever.” Kastrup, an impressive winner in the Conway colours yesterday, will be spelled, but will be brought back early to prepare for spring race*.
