GUS WINS AGAIN

Double At Meeting (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON. Gus completed a double for the Wellington meeting with a brilliant win yesterday in the Oriental Handicap, for which he was a dominating favourite. Mrs L. Tyree’s three-year-old was one of the slowest away, but he had the ability to make a sharp run to a handy position and to run out a mile well enough to win by three-quarters of a length from Tinsel. Allbut, helped by a 71b allowance, ran up to her winning form of the first day with a good third in a spectacular race for the minor places.
