Fashions For Winter

Clothes for country life were displayed at a recent winter fashion show, sponsored by the Masons Flat Country Women’s Institute and held at Hawarden. Garments made from easy to care for fabrics were featured in the children’s wear. These ranged from practical stretch trews, woollen pullovers and windbreakers, to kilts, suits, coats and party frocks.

Male fashions featured jackets and coats.

Wool was again popular for women of all ages. Skirts featured pleats teamed with blouses and sweaters. For frocks the choice was doubleknit jersey, wool crepe and wool chiffon.

Evening gowns in gold for the younger woman and shades of green shantung for the mature woman were comole men ted by fur stoles. The parade was compered by Mrs Valerie Chudley.
