McLeod, of New Plymouth, will have to withdraw because she has been advised, for medical reasons, not to play badminton this season. Miss McLeod, aged 18, won the Taranaki senior women’s badminton championship last year as a junior player. The team, which was earlier in the day announced in Wellington is: I. Clegg (Taranaki), D. Gloyn (Manawatu), M. Norton (Auckland), W. Johns (Auckland), and Misses M. McFarlane (Waikato), McLeod, B. Skinner (Welling-
ton), and G. Steele (Wellington). Matches will be played against Wanganui (June 25), Manawatu (June 27), Taranaki (June 28) and Waikato (June 30). Clegg, a member of last year’s touring side, will captain the team and Miss McFarlane has been appointed vice-captain. Mr L.
