New Rangiora Basketball Courts

Rangiora will eventually have facilities for outdoor basketball probably unrivalled by other country centres. With the completion of four more concrete courts this week, there are now eight in Dudley Park, five belonging to the North Canterbury association, and three to the Rangiora club. The association plans to install another seven courts later, giving a total, The photograph above shows workmen putting the finishing touches to one of the slabs of the new courts. The new courts have been laid at a cost of £2693, with a subsidy of £BOO to come from the Golden Kiwi funds, with the Rangiora club’s courts, of 15. This number will compare very favourably with the 16 hardcourts provided by the Canterbury association in Hagley Park.
