Ban Call On Rhodesia

•V Z P A Reuter —Copyright) NEW YORK, May 10. A group of about 30 African nations today asked for an immediate meeting of the Security Council to impose mandatory sanctions against Rhodesia. The request was delivered by Mr Theodore Idzumbuir, of the Congo (Leopoldville), chairman of the African group, to Mr J. G. de Beus, of the Netherlands, president of the council to consider all the necessary measures under chapter seven of the United Nations Charter to ensure constitutional and majority rule in Rhodesia. These could include the use of force if economic sanctions and a blockade prove inadequate.
