CENSUS FORMS
Distribution I Begins A team of more than 250 men and women has begun calling at every house in Christchurch to distribute 1966 census forms. By next week-end they will each have visited 350 homes and handed to the occupants dwelling and personal schedules. The first of the schedules were distributed last Saturday and by next Monday, the day before the census, every home in the city should have the j forms. The officer in charge of the census in Christchurch (Mr B. D. Rowe) urges people not to fill in the forms until March 22, the official day of the census taking. First reports say public response to the census has been favourable. Mr Rowe says most people so far visited are aware of the census and are prepared to co-operate. He advises residents in the Waimairi, Halswell and Heathcote counties that they should give the name of the suburb in which they live when answering question three on the dwelling schedule. Those who live in the city area should write the letter “T” in answer to question three.
