The appointee wtll be required to undertake undergraduate and post-graduate teaching in the Agronomy Department with particular emphasis on farm machinery and farm mechanisa tion. At the under-graduate level he will be required to cooperate with other specialists in the Department and to teach the applied aspects of machinery and mechanisation relating to pasture and crop production At the post-graduate level he will be required to supervise advanced studies in farm mechanisation relating to agronomic problems. Studies at the Centre are mainly concerned with the composition of foodstuffs, av«iiab nty of nutrients, require quirements, etc. Duties of the appointee will primarily in VG’te the investigation of the imino acid content of feedstuffs, but fundamental research will be undertaken latet in the field of ammo acid nutrition. March, 1966. , . 2484 THE AUSTRALIAN NATIONAL UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL SCIENCES JOHN CURTIN SCHOOL OF MEDICAL RESEARCH APPLICATIONS are invited for the position of Head Technician in the Department of Clinical Sciences in the John Curtin School of Medical Research. Duties will include the supervision of technical staff, the supply of chemicals and apparatus, general administrative work and laboratory ser vice. The Department is under construction in the Canberra Community Hospital and will be ready for occupation about July, 1966. Its activities wiilJ include the clinical care of patients and research on metabolic problems in obesity, lipid disorders and other conditions relevant to coronary heart disease Applicants should have had substantial experience and responsibilities in laboratory work, preferably biochemical. Reasonable travel and removal expenses will be paid and assistance with accommodation will be provided in an appointment from outside Canberra. Superannuation will be available.
