ASSOCIATION MEMBERS
Amendment To Admit Trusts
The South Island Local Bodies’ Association executive yesterday amended its constitution to permit membership by hotel licensing trust bodies. The amendment came after the association considered an application for membership by the Invercargill Licensing Trust.
Supporting the application the Town Clerk of Invercargill (Mr H. Brass) said the trust played an important part in the affairs of the city. Mr M. Wallace (Westland) said any South Island body that could lend weight or substance to the association should be invited to join. The association amended the constitution to allow membership by all city, borough and county councils, all road, town, harbour, power, catchment and plantation boards, and all other statutory ad hoc bodies considered suitable for membership. The application of the Invercargill trust will be dealt with at the next meeting.
