AUCKLAND, March 10.
Several Auckland pathologists investigating sudden deaths in adolescents have been unable to find any conclusive cause of death. The Auckland Coroner, Mr A. D. Copeland, today found that an 18-year-old shorthand typist died at her home in Devonport of obscure natural causes.
He was hearing evidence into the death of Carol Anne Barber, who died on October 26. 1965. He said the Government analyst had reported that the body contained no traces of drugs. “The pathologist has added to his report that he has investigated a number of sudden deaths in adolescents without finding any conclusive cause of death,” said Mr Copeland. “He states that he has discussed the problem with his colleagues who have also had the same difficulties.”
