EXPORT LAMB

Statement Denied

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, March 10. Statements that New Zealand lamb sold in the United States was “inedible,” have been denied by a Dunedin housewife. Mr R. A. McPherson, of Ravensbourne, who has just returned from a visit to the United States, said be found meat branded (produce of N.Z.) to be inedible. He described the meat as “dog tucker.” However, Mrs E. Morrin, of Brook street, denies that New Zealand lamb sold overseas is of poor quality. Relatives in both the United States and Canada have recently written in praise of the lamb. “I asked them how they liked New Zealand meat and they replied that it was lovely. They said it was so nice they won’t eat anything else,” she said today. Mr McPherson’s statement was “just not true.” “He shouldn’t say such things about New Zealand meat; it’s a blow at the whole industry,” she said.
