ADMIRAL’S VISIT

Inspection Of Pegasus

The Chief of the Naval Staff (Rear-Admiral J. O’C. Ross) will make his first annual inspection of H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus on Monday. He will be accompanied by an inspecting staff from Navy Office. Wellington.

He will also go to Lyttelton where, at his own request, he will inspect the Canterbury division’s motor launch under way in the harbour. Later he will visit Cass Bay to see the division’s whalers, boats, and dinghies. Admiral Ross wall inspect the division at parade on Monday evening after which he will address the men. On Saturday Admiral Ross will be the guest of honour of the wardroom officers of Pegasus at a mess dinner. Also attending will be the commander of the United States Navy Antarctic support force (Rear-Admiral F. E. Bakutis) and the commander of the Southern Military District (Brigadier T. C. Campbell).
