The Board of a large engineering company in Christchurch wishes to appoint a GENERAL MANAGER This appointment is in the old established company of Andersons Limited, now a member of the Mason Bros. Ltd. Group. The successful candidate must be able to supply youthful energy and sound business judgment in order to profitably manage and expand a complex engineering organisation. He will report directly to the Board and wlil have the opportunity to develop with his company in responsibility and status. Although adequate technical staff is available, his training and background must enable him to readily grasp the problems of this type of company. The company’s operations, iron founding, boilermaking and the manufacture of various types of plant and machinery, are ail involved. Both the age of the executive selected and his salary on appointment will depend on the factors set out above, but as some indication the Board would like to appoint a man at a salary and allowances of about £4OOO.
