Governors Bay Telephones
Sir, —Why are Governor’s Bay residents getting such poor service from the local exchange? Ever since the automatic exchange has been operating here, the connexion and service have been atrocious. Repeated pleas to the power® that be are of no avail. We have all complained from time to time. Should there be an emergency at any time in our district we would be in a sorry plight.—Yours, etc., NO REPLY. Governor’s Bay, March 1, 1966. [The regional engineer of the Post Office (Mr J. O. Kuchen) replies: “Improvements to the service to the Governor's Bay residents is dependent upon the provision of additional circuits linking Governor's Bay with the city. The work is being pushed on as quickly as labour resources permit. Present indications are that the work should be completed by early April. The Post Office regrets the inconvenience being caused by the present deficiency.”]
