The Parliamentary Undersecretary to the Minister of Finance (Mr R. D. Muldoon) who is a member of Parliament for Tamaki, has scotched rumours that he intended to make a bid for the Remuera seat.
He said he would again offer himself for Tamaki. The Minister of Defence (Mr Eyre) would not comment on reports that he was a contender for Remuera. At present he holds the North Shore seat.
Mr D. Mclntyre, National member for Hastings, has accepted nomination as a candidate for re-election.—(P.A.)
