GIFT TO SCHOOL

Cheque From Round Table

A cheque for £29 10s from the Bryndwr Round Table was received at a meeting of the Burnside High School’s board of governors last evening.

A covering letter said the organisation wished to give the money to buy a sewing machine for the school.

Board members expressed their pleasure at the gift.

A letter from the ParentTeacher Association asking for discussion of a change in the boys’ summer uniform was received. The board decided to ask for suggestions.

The board was told that a change from flannel shirts would probably be the main one sought.

“Flannel shirts are absurd in the weather we have been having,” said the chairman (Mr B. Zeff).
