N.Z. SHIPPING COMPANY
New Director Appointed
Mr G. Hunter, who was elected to the board of direcors of the New Zealand Shipping Company on Tuesday, has been with the company since 1936. At the outbreak of war he joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force as a pilot, and returned to the company in 1945. Mr Hunter was appointed chief clerk in 1949, and spent five months in the London office. He was made assistant to the managing director in 1956.
He was appointed assistant general manager in June, 1963, and general manager in July, 1964. With his wife, Mr Hunter will visit the company's London office for two months later this year. He is a member of the board of governors of Hutt Valley High School.
