VOLUNTEER LABOUR
Although a considerable amount of money is taken at the gate at each Mayfield show, time for the organisation of the | show is given voluntarily by members of I the executive and the committee of the May- i field Agricultural and Pastoral Association. Planning each show is a year-round task for the committee of 24. After the show, at the first monthly meeting, members of the association discuss improvements or innovations suggested by subcommittees for incorporation in next year's event. In August, the new committee elects new sub-committees —sheep, cattle, pigs, horses, ponies, produce and others, — which revise the schedules and evolve further improvements to ensure the smooth running of the next show.
