Two husbands decided to exchange their wives and children when one wife found her husband having an affair with the other, a court was told here yesterday. Domenico Zavaglia, aged 32, his wife Carmela, 33, and Nicodemo Colautti, 32, and his wife Filomena, 33, al] came from Calabria, in southern Italy. They became friends until one day in August, 1964, Carmela found her husband in a compromising situation with Filomena. All four sat down and discussed the problem and decided the men would swap wives and children—Filomena’s six and Carmela’s three. The two men would pay ihe other couple the State family allowances. All went well until Domenico, in financial trouble, failed to pay, and his legal wife started an action. The Magistrate decided to adjourn the case.
